Still looking for that perfect Class C to buy

Postby RVSandy » Sun Apr 17, 2011 12:20 pm

Hello! Has anyone ever bought from RV Direct. The price is 10K off the dealer's. Is it worth it and would you do that? Anyone own a Gulfstream Conquest? If so, do you like it? Also looking at Sunseeker from Forest River? And input.
Still searching after 2 years!

Both of those are the "middle-of-the-road" manufacturers (along with others). I have a Gulf Stream Conquest Ultra - a 1999 that I purchased used in 2005 and hope to have for another 4-5 or more years. I'm very happy with it. If you search for info on Gulf Stream there are people who hate them. And those of us who don't and don't say as much.

I have met people who purchased from RVDirect - I will say that 10% is still not enough off on a new unit. You can bargain better - with them or with dealers. And I've found you can often get the best prices on a new rig at a big rv show - where the dealers don't own the rig - so you're actually purchasing from the manufacturer (through the dealer). Might have confused you there - but I've been offered some almost impossible to turn down deals at shows.

Good luck.

RVSandy,

I have a Sunseeker that I bought new 2008. I love the floor plan and have had very little trouble with the unit. Customer service with the outfit we bought it from leaves little to be desired but have friends that are very savvy when it comes to working on campers. I plan to keep this unit for a long time. If you have any questions about the Sunseeker, please feel free to PM me.
