Saranac Lake Winter Carnival ice palace during kick-off night in a snowstorm with fireworks, thanks to someone at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise. It looked like a wonderful carnival this year with many events spread out over the week. I was sorry to miss that....but not too sorry to enjoy a good swim at our pool here!

Cool pix! I heard an NPR story about all the winter celebrations in the north, sounded like great fun.

Wow, what a spectacular pictures. I can just imagine the work that goes into making that ice palace. Thanks for posting this. What do they do with the ice palace when the festival is over?

When the celebration is over, Sue, I think that they make a bunch of frozen margaritas with all that ice :o and send them to FL. So get the TT out and get down here!
