Jean/Sparkle is at Peace

I don't have any personal Sparkle stories to tell -- never met her -- and I probably cannot build on anything said here. She was a treasure. If there is a place in heaven for laughter, I'm sure she parked her rig there.

I first saw Beth's FB posting about Jean's passing -- and the forum site crash. And I laughed out loud. My late DH did a similar thing. When I was up at 4 a.m. the day of my DH's funeral writing a eulogy, my laptop kept locking up (which it NEVER did).

Finally, I looked up and yelled (at the top of my lungs, thank you!), "THIS IS NOT ABOUT YOU!! This is about us. And if I have to go to the store and get 3x5 cards I will!!" And I did.

RIP Sparkle (and don't have too much more "zzzzzt!") fun with us on the forum.

I'm late to the party....but know Jean would understand. I only met her once at the Groovin' Grannies gathering in TN back in 2006. I remember her making sure I took her homemade liver treats back home with me for my little pup. She was so warm, friendly and out-going. It wasn't hard to see why her nickname was Sparkle.

Enjoy your rest, Jean. You've earned it (and thank you for letting us back into the forum....LOL!)

I also never met Sparkle, but have experienced many a spewed beverage reading of her adventures. She was one lady that I wanted to meet. Sparkle passed on my birthday and hopefully has sent a little sparkle my way on her way. That would be quite a lovely birthday wish as I would like to have the spunk, humor and love of life that she so obviously had I will carry that proudly. RIP Sparkle.

There is not much I can add to this thread. She was one lady, I soooooo wanted to meet and that hope was realized last August in Huntsville. I followed her on another forum and she gave me so much pleasure and laughter in all the things she did. We were near the same age and I always thought "if she can do that, I can too". As I have not done anything compared to her, I will still keep that thought in mind, and of course, will always think of her when opportunities come along that I might be a little fearful of doing. She is one of the reasons, I joined this forum, as I sooo wanted to meet her and really get to know her. Would love to have traveled with her, but then again a lady that stops and picks up pieces of her r.v. and truck and just throws them in the back and on she goes, probably wouldn't have put up with me tagging along for long.

She was very much 'one of a kind' and will be so much missed here by all of us. I have waited until today to try to write somewhat of a tribute to her, hoping not to just set and cry but I couldn't do it. Think I am crying more for the fact that I won't have the opportunities to be at GTG's , meet her on the road or travel along with her, then I am for her, as she is with her hubby now, whom she missed so much through the years he has been gone.

Sparkle, you will be missed so much more then you could ever have imagined. May you RIP Jean.

I never did get to meet her, but with what everyone says about her, I know I would have like her. RIP Sparkle.

I feel so blessed to have met Sparkle twice in Huntsville. It was a joy to watch her eat the fresh gulf shrimp and new potatoes at our feast. I was happy to have contributed to her appetite. She will be missed. RIP, Sparkle.

I am so sorry to hear of Sparkle's passing but am glad to know she is now at peace and is not suffering any more. I loved to read her stories and adventures and as others have said I am sure she would have been a blessing in my life. I am glad to read about the flamingo and am looking forward to joining officially when i get my glass from Karen in just a few weeks.

Beth and all the rest who knew this sweet lady you are all in my prayers tonight as well as her family.
