Where's Sharon?

I heard from Sharon today and she is on her way to Las Cruces, NM, fighting the wind. She promises that if it gets too bad she will find a hole to pull into. At least it's not blistering hot like it was around Yuma and she expects to be parked in Las Cruces tonight. She hasn't had WiFi yet, but I'm sure as soon as she can, she will post.

She said she had been looking forward to visiting the pool and especially the hot tub last night, but she was parked at the back of the RV park and after fighting wind all day she was just too tired to walk to the pools. Had to make do with a cool shower in the rig. Chewie didn't even get a long walk because Mom was too tired, but they made up for it before heading out this morning.

She was sweet enough to say she wished I was behind her and I sure wish I could be there, too, but my house finally sold so I'm moving next month! I am up to my eyeballs pulling stuff out for a yard sale this weekend and waiting not-so-patiently for people to get back to me with closing dates, inspection dates, etc.

Oh, CONGRATS on the house selling. That's great news - even if work now. Soon it will all be behind you. We'll wait patiently (or impatiently) on hearing from Sharon. She's a smart lady - if the winds are too bad, I know she'll find that hole.

Just talked to Sharon on FB, she had rain, wind, lightning & thunder, but made it to the Harley shop okay.

HERE I AM! Made it to Las Cruces as planned. Wind finally died down in Picacho about 10, so I left. 'Course as soon as I did it started raining and rained all the way to Benson and then of course the wind started up again. Had wind all the way into New Mexico and finally ran out of the worst of it just past Deming. I remember about 3 years ago I only made it from El Paso to Deming because of high winds, but today wasn't as bad, thank goodness! Tucked up here in a pretty good spot and already made my grocery run to get you know who her Hatch chilis. Naturally they didn't have any medium hot, only mild and hot, so got both and she can mix them. Got her some other goodies, too, that I thought she would like. There are some really pretty sights along that stretch of the 10, but sorry, wasn't taking any hands off the wheel to take any pictures. Since I've been in this area several times, I'm not doing any sightseeing either, so therefore, no pictures. Going over to the Harley dealer in the morning to look at what they have on sale, then maybe pulling out. That way I don't have to fight early morning traffic thru El Paso. Or maybe not, may stay here another day.

Evie, sure wish I was home to help you....Nah, I'd rather be on the road....but if I was home I'd for sure help ya! Glad you're finally getting to move, I know what a headache that house has been for you. You deserve to be sitting by the pool with a glass of wine instead of worrying about the yard and the other stuff! Thanks for letting the girls know where I am, wasn't sure if I had wifi or not here and the book didn't say. Off to check posts, I'll check in when I can or call Evie and let her know.

Good to hear from you,Sharon, and happy you made it to safety for the night or a couple of days! Driving in that wind is so nervewracking, and I've only had to do it a couple of times for short distances, so far. I would NOT want to do it for an all-day trek.

Have a fun day at the Harley dealers, and try not to spend it all!
