Okay...shopping time...

So we have decided instead of doing one more season with this trailer. We are going to sell it/trade it in...we will try and sell it over the fall/winter and if we have not we trade it in the spring. According to NADA..it is still has good value, since it will be 5 years old. It is paid off..so that is not an issue. The value is in the 14,000-16,000 range. Not sure how easy that will be to sell. But according to Garret (the repairman in Montana). He says that with it having the quad bunks and more families looking at camping as cheaper vacation option..it should sell okay.

We plan on going to some RV shows. We are downsizing..as we really only have 3 kids that camp with us now..instead of 5. The reality of that is that DD most likely will only do the big trips and not the weekend ones as she will starting to work next summer at summer camp. The first summer they only have them in training status so they work for 3 weeks. Then the next summer they can come back as fulltime and work the 8 weeks.

We want something shorter..so we can go camping in more places. IE I would like to stay in the 24-26ft range (since most state/national parks rarely have sites for larger trailers).
I want one set of bunks. ( I told DH that Kodie will be with us for longer time and I really want her to have her space and not use the couch or dinette for her bed.
DS already prefers the couch...and I think that has more to do with his height..he is getting too tall for the bunks anyway. So the couch would have to make out into a bed.

The bathroom...one thing we learned and DH would kill me if he knows I am posting this...but we need one with a little more room...like room to change in. I know we may give up living space, but honestly when we are camping..we are not really inside the trailer that much, unless it is cold and rainy out.

Dh thinks we would like to get a 5th wheel...my concern is the loss of bed space in the truck. Where would we put the bikes...my thought was if we go 5th wheel was to go toy hauler, but I can't seem to find any 26ft and under.

It seems like you get more options/floorplans with pull behind trailer and 5th wheel.

Has anyone towed both..what is the difference with towing?

Now we may also sell the current truck and get a Dodge Ram Mega Cab, to give the growing kids a little more room. We were thinking Ford, but I guess they are still having issues and once again changing their diesel engines around. Where as Dodge we can get the Cummins engine..that is a good engine.

I can't help with your questions - but will be with you here all the way in your search and decision making process. Sounds like you know what you want.

I do suggest you go to some of the companies websites and look at floorplans - keep looking till you see one that talks back to you. I bet you'll find just what you want! And you have the time.

Enjoy looking - and I hope you can get a good value for this one and get a good price on the new. Have you thought about looking for a "slightly use" model? There are lots of them out there.

RV Shows! Yeah, that means we can go together especially since we missed them this past year.

Hope this one sells for exactly what you want. Too bad the kids don't have $$ to buy your trailer.

Did I miss something ~ did something happen in Montana on your recent trip?

Hope all is well. Miss you!

Love ya more!

You missed it the STUPID STUMP...yep we have a new axle on the trailer. Met a great trailer repairman..who repairs on site. So he basically came to the trailer at the KOA took the measurements..and then ordered the new axle. Came the next day and removed the bent axle. Then came back 2 days later and put it all back together again.

We ended up spending one extra day in Glacier.

Miss you too...Love you more...and yes we will have to the do the RV shows together!!!

We are also shopping for a Dodge Ram Mega Cab. We need more foot room in the back..Zeke is getting to tall for the back seat. We looked at the Mega Cab and they have way more space.
