Like the others when we spend a few months in the RV - like when in Mexico for the winter I use the stove top a lot. Also have an electric skillet and a Foreman grill - small size. Use the microwave for veggies, heat ups etc.
On top of both of our stoves we have a wooden cutting board with rubber maid shelf liner on the bottom. It sits nicely on the burners - doesn't move even during the roughest ride and keeps the burners from rattling and making noise - they sell them at campging world or you could make it yourself. Anything we can do to cut down on noise when traveling is done.
Use my oven for storage and it is lined with carpet that I can just pull out if I want to use it.
