(the last few pictures are from previous trip)
This time we had a beachside site. (or as the host calls it the VIP site...ie DO not leave your awning out..if you leave your site at all). Actually it was a nice weekend so we did not have to put it out..we only put it out if it is rainy, as we still do 95% our cooking outside)

Sorry....This is the campground on Naval Air Station on Whidbey Island, near Oak Harbor, WA.
It is military only campground, you have to be active duty, reserve, retired or a DOD employee.

IT is just south of Deception Pass State Park.

I was going to ask if many navy jets fly over, but I see you posted a picture of one, so I guess they do. Pretty cool! One time we drove the island and one flew over really low. At first we didn't know what the noise was!

During the week there are lots of jets and the plane. IT does get quiet on weekends, with maybe an occasional flight.
So during the week it is not a quiet place, but the cool factor is there. I love watching the military jets and planes fly by.

So glad you got your first campout. I love staying near where the planes are flying like that. They don't often fly at night and are something to watch during the day. Like watching the ships pass if on a shore, etc.
