un-birthdays & birthdays

There are three hundred and sixty-four days when you might get un-birthday presents, and only one for birthday presents, you know.

It took me 364 unbirthdays to get to where I can say this: I'm 55. Yep, the big double nickel. How did it happen so fast? Yeah, bet you've heard that before. But truth is, except for that typical mid-life spread I don't see a "senior" when I look in the mirror. And my mind sure doesn't know I'm old enough for senior discounts. Truth is, I'm glad to finally get here. It feels kind of freeing. Had a big yard sale last month and cleared out a lot of stuff. I've donated a lot of stuff to Goodwill. Had to do some repairs to the house after the floods here in Nashville, but basically I think I'm ready to put it back on the market. School starts back for me the last week of July with workshops, but the good thing is it's my last year. Still shopping around for the "perfect" rv to call home. Have found a variety of places I could actually live fulltime locally while finishing up my last school year and getting the hang of fulltiming. So, I'm looking forward to a fabulous year ahead and to celebrating #56 on the road next year.

Happy Happy Birthday, Janice! (the normal birthday checker (Doofus) is getting ready for a camping trip today, and I always forget to check!)
Hope your day is good and if Life Is Good, then it's gonna be a great day for you!

Happy, Happy Birthday, Janice - and a great happy year full of unbirthdays, too. (I think you just changed the way I say that to people - love it)

I'm not sure - HorizonSeeker - is today you're birthday also? If so - Happy to you also. 55 is a good age ;)

Yeah, she must be busy - this cake is soooo understated for HER. She usually posts these big, gaudy things...
(which I know are very much appreciated, but I had to dig, you all know that!)

Happy Birthday Janice! Good day to be born. Like me I'm sure you shared lots of Fathers Day/birthdays over the years. Bethers I agree that 55 is a good age. And I really enjoy your wildlife photos on your blog. I was in Huntsville a couple of weeks ago looking at a Class C but it was 30' and I really am leaning more toward 24' or 26' at the most. Great thing about hitting 55 - I can make what seems like crazy plans for my special day and no one argues. I'm going to my bookclub discussion with Steven Womack's latest novel and then turning in early. It's too hot out side for much else.
