And yet another fire!

This has been a very busy week in this area. Not only was there that big 8,850 wildfire about 30 miles south, there was also another 1,200 acre fire on the Camp Grayling range about 25 miles southwest of here. A controlled burn that got out of control. And then on Wednesday night, an old lumber yard barn caught fire and almost took an entire block of businesses with it. The lumber building itself burned down three years ago, another smaller building (part of that complex) was burned down in an arson fire last year, and now the big lumber storage barn. The buidings have been unoccupied for a number of years except for the old main building which had been occupied by a feed and grain store. Luckily there were enough fire companies that responded from as far as 25 miles away, two with aerial ladder trucks and our county aerial ladder truck to keep water on roofs, cause the sparks wee flying all over and the heat was tremendous. By the time all was said and done, the barn was gone, an apt. in back aof one of the buildings along main street is gone, two business suffered damage, one a hole in the roof and a wall caving in, the others just smoke damage and open for business. Very lucky indeed.
