After having rv's with and w/o slides, I wouldn't have one w/o. The only thing I can't get to is the closet and some drawers in the bedroom. So if I know I'm gonna be in a parking lot for the nite, I get out clean undies that morning before I leave, or if necessary, can pop the slide out a little and access the undie drawer. I have a pretty good aisle in the living room, so no problem cooking or watching tv with that slide in. I've had some windy days in the desert where I had to bring in the slides for a day or 2 and everything was good. The topper over my LR slide tore a little going to Moab last year (wind caught it underneath and ripped the corner) but it hasn't gotten any worse, so I'll leave it for now.

Just one more opinion. I had a slide on my first 25ft RV and have no slide on my 22ft. I do not full time in my rig. The slides DO add weight and will cut down on your carrying capacity. Watch for space issues when closed like several have stated. I also have read that the emergency road services rank slides as one of their top calls. :) I travel with multiple dogs but my long ago history of camping is in a tent so what I have now is 5 star! If I were going full time I would probably add back some feet in length but I don't miss the width. And to me it was one less thing to go wrong. It also makes unplugging an driving off to explore that much simpler. The dogs often hang out in the front in the seats or curled up on a blankie between the seats. I know that I don't have any entertainment room but there are always trade offs. The dogs all move nicely when asked :)
