This is where we went -
Some info about our trip
Total days on road - 138
Total miles driven in Jennie(RV) - 5750 did not keep tract of miles we put on Willie(Jeep)

Expenses in US dollars exchanged rate averaged 12.60 pesos to dollar

Gas for Jennie – 2164 - averaged about 7mpg
Gas for Jeep – 648

Tolls paid - 479 (both Mexico and US)

Campgrounds in US - 589 for 26 days = 23 average per day
Campgrounds in MX - 1820 for 111 days = 16.40 per day

Biggest daily expense was eating out – 1733
And groceries – 1224
Other expenses included: propane, books, healthcare, clothes, souvenirs, fees for border and museums etc, entertainment etc.

In Mexico we averaged 64 dollars a day in expenses – that includes every cent we spent. (except for beads)
In the US portion of the trip we averaged 137 per day (one reason it is so high is we put a lot of miles on the RV in the US so used more gasoline here. In MX miles driven were only 1813 – in US 3936

not included are the costs of maintaining our home (utilities only) and the Internet charges
Took thousands of photos and met many, many wonderful people.

Wow you did quite a loop. Expense trivia is interesting too. Have you previously done the Yucatan peninsula? That's where I'd like to go someday.

Way more than my expenses for Baja! But I didn't pay nearly that much for camping and while we ate out more than I normally do, still no where on that level. But that shows the differences in expenses for people based on how they travel. It can be very, very different! Great to see how yours broke down.

I didn't see you mention the Mexican insurance - and being on the mainland you had to pay for that extra fee we didn't have on the Baja also, right?

I think I need to add a few things to this post - one important thing we did NO boondocking - staying everynight/day in a campground. A couple of the areas we went to the only campsites available were in high end campgrounds - we also paid for wifi at a few places. We eat out more than when we're home and I like the nice sit down restaurants rather then the side of the road restaurants. Guess I'm getting stuffy in my old age.
While we were in Mexico the gasoline went up in price 3 times and the peso went down - increasing the expenses.
Did not include the price of Mexican Insurance it was $278 comprehensive for jeep for 6 months - the RV was covered by our regular insurance and an additional $60 for both vehicles for liability and lawyer
I spent quite a bit on books ($12 for a new paperback there) and bought a couple of outfits neither of us needed - plus Bill got a new leather coat.
The whole trip could have been done much cheaper.
Paperwork fees were $98 - temporary permits for car and RV and 2 tourist cards. Toll roads were $498 - there were free roads available but the wear and tear on the car/RV can add up if you miss seeing a tope .
Any way we're home but had a great trip.
