San Felipe, Baja - Dec. 27

Here are a couple of new blog entries: The first is from Dec. 27 with pictures of a hermit crab in large shell, etc.

This second one is a reflection on living by the sun - when it rises and sets.

Today is warm and sunny, as yesterday. The wind has finally abated, at least for a while. We're gradually finding out way around town - hardware stores, grocery stores, best place to get propane, getting acquainted with lots of people, learning names. We're making a trip up to Yuma Saturday to get three batteries - two for me and one for our caretaker here for his trailer. In return, he's going to install mine for me.

Hey, Jenny - want to do lunch or something somewhere? We'll probably get the batteries at Wal-Mart.

Chris, replacing your batteries is a piece of cake - and if you take your rig, the place you buy from will take the old and give you credit on them as well as usually put in the new. I purchase at Auto Zone because of their great warranty - which I have used. If you aren't taking your rig - still should just connect yourself - a couple minutes and nothing to it. Your choice, but the guy there is getting way the better of the deal :) Jean and I can even change hers with all the hitch stuff on them. And if you're scared, just take a picture of them first. To remember exactly what cords are where.

Have fun!

Thanks, Beth. But, we're only picking up a battery for him - not paying for it. Deep cycle batteries are twice as expensive here as in Yuma. He offered to put mine in in return, especially since mine are so difficult to access. Wish they were on a slide-out tray. I've put batteries in before - no sweat. But, as long as he wants to do it, I'll let him.
