And a world of difference! Desert! Pebbles! Wind! We hated it. The dogs hated it. The price was right - free. So we unhitched and went searching. Thanks to Beth's handy dandy book we found Mittry Lake. Price was right - free!

And this is Mittry Lake. Beth has a great sunset shot, I'll have to steal it from her. Those are our rigs. There are little paths with palm trees that go right out into the lake. So this is looking back

Didn't care much for the look of the place in the first picture, but it sure got allot nicer in the next ones. Very nice place!

PS in the first picture you say, "this is Pilot Knob". How in the heck do you know? It looks like a turnout along the highway! Did it have a sign?

Not too shabby! Yes, it was REALLY windy last night. I can imagine all those little rocks flying all around.

Trust me, this is Pilots Knob. It's a big area. You can pay for long term boondocking (why anybody would want to!) but 14 day is free. At Mittry Lake we can stay 10 days in a year. We will be here for 5 or 6 days, then visit Jenny in Yuma proper.

Janice, she COPIED me. We were at Wal-Mart and I went looking for Christmas window stickers - got some - she saw them in my cart and MADE me show her where they were. Copycat! What I love is that they are inexpensive, and reusable, and won't take up any room. But if any of you get them and have sliding windows like me - remember, they just might not like when you open/close windows (yes, I learned that this morning.)

This place is wonderful - with the coots, blue herons, egrets, mallards, and other ducks and birds. Dogs are happy. I love being on the water - so calming. It's simply fantastic.

Now, if I only would quit having generator problems, I could get my blog up-to-date and post lots of pictures.

I'll bet the gals are a rocking over there at Mittry, blowing hard over here in Yuma, hope the tree next door has not scratched up Diane's RV....Yikes! Diane arrived just after Beth & Jean left today( Monday)

The wind has finally calmed down at Blythe. For a while it was raining like crazy with the hardest winds I've experienced in a long time.So glad I parked the MH the right direction. - and away from trees.

We rocked and rolled all night. The wind was hitting me broadside and I didn't have my stabilizers down..interesting.We didn't post about meeting Jenny and Dan yesterday as we only went over to pick up our mail. We will REALLY meet them on Wednesday when we move over there.

Wind was hitting me broadside, too - so it was obviously coming from all directions (Sparkle and I are parked in a T - so seems it wouldn't have got us both broadsides). I've been having trouble with my generator, and didn't have the door latched to it. Poor Peaches, the wind would come in, pick up and slam that door down. She'd jump and come over and hide her head in me. During one lull, I ran out and latched it. I thought it might come off otherwise - and I didn't like the banging either.

Sun is out today - supposed to be cool, but the sun will warm the rvs up nicely. YIppee!

Was great to meet Jenny and Dan, even if briefly. Will be better to have some time to spend with them. Jenny mentioned a trip to Algodones on Friday. Yep, we are sold :)
