Back on Line

Hello everyone - well we are in Tucson, AZ - have been having all kinds of problems with the *&%$(*&# satellite. First the DataStorm controller box went out and the dish wouldn't go down. Had to call tech support then pull wires out of the box and put them on a 9 volt battery to make the dish go down. Got that fixed - still under warantee just charged for an installer here in Tucson - our Indiana installer is now in Italy!!!!! Then we had to change from satellite 89 to satmex6 - so we'll be able to get internet down into Mexico. And that was a BIG problem. The DataStorm guy couldn't do the change cause he wasn't a HughesNet installer. Couldn't find a HughesNet installer in phone book. Lots of emails back and forth between us and Indiana installer in Italy. Finally got a HughesNet installer who could come over to the RV Park. He had to make many phone calls back to HughesNet and DataStorm, another call from Italy, lots and lots of trial and error - the HughesNet guy didn't know any thing about the DataStorm dish and set up................But it finally got done. He had a real learning experience tonight.
My stomach is so upset - was it worth it? We'd better be able to get on line down there.
Any way we will either be crossing the border tomorrow or the next day.
I take a cocktail of pills to keep hives under control. Get them in 90 day mail supplies - couldn't order a couple of them before we left home, too soon, so had to find a CVS today and have the prescriptions switched to Tucson and can't pick them up until tomorrow morning. Such fun.
Other than that not much going on.

Good to know you are safe and still moving along, kinda/sorta.....even if your blood pressure took a hit with frustration  Hope that the next adventures are of the better kind. Sorry that you couldn't have taken all the frustration "time" to find the AZ sistars...... Looking forward to reading more about MX.

It sounds as if Carol will be crossing pretty soon. They are going to the mainland and Beth and I are doing the Baja, so we have to go furthur West than they do. But it should lead to some good posts and comparisons of the lifestyle in the two places. Someone from Scotland asked if I would maybe run into this person we both know. She lives in the Cancun area and I'll be nowhere near there! I felt like saying "get a map."

Thank heavens (literally!) that your satelite is now working, and you are back online! You have had quite the saga with getting that done properly! Now we are all hoping it works as well when you are well into Mexico, and taking some more wonderful travel pictures!

Take care Carol I hope every thing is in order now and you have a wonderful trouble free trip the rest of the way.
There are many places to go for massage or Reiki out there & either would really help with the all the stress you've been going through. The driver might like it too!
