Cle Elum campout

Had a great time with the Cascadia chapter of the RVing Women. The river float was a great success. Many of the gals had water cannons but my raft brought up the rear and was dry so I didn't have to worry about my camera :D
There is a pond at the campground and Monty used it to cool off tho he stayed near the edge where it was only belly deep. As he is a rescue I have no idea what his experience with water is but he went right in.
There was a chili cook off on Friday with 10 different entries. Can you say heartburn? And a BBQ on Saturday with burgers and brots. A good time was had by all.

Beautiful pictures, but more info please. Is that in WA somewhere? Okay, now this next question may be stupid, but I'll ask anyway, (like I've never embarrassed myself on here before) okay, water cannons,,, and you said "filling the cannons" is that a TYPE of raft or does it mean something like they "shoot" through the water faster or what?

Cle Elum is east of the Cascade mountains here in WA. Did you ever watch Northern Exposure that was filmed in Roslyn, WA? Cle Elum is near there.

 Gotcha, on the cannons, I thought it was a nickname for a type of fast raft. :P

No pics of Monty playing in the water?

Glad you had fun!

I loved Northern Exposure. I hadn't thought about that show in ages. Looks like you all had a good time. Beautiful country.

We love Cle Elum...we haven't camped there yet...it is funny that it seems the campgrounds that are within a few hours are the one's I seem to sometimes overlook.

That looks like great fun. The water cannons might have been fun too if the weather was hot! :D

What a fun time THAT would be! And your pics are great! Glad you kept your camera dry so we could see what fun you had. Sure wish we had groups like that around here---all our events seem to be for youthful, seriously competing groups. Years ago I would enter the canoe races each year and was one of those out for 'blood'! Now I would like to just casually float down the course using my paddle for steering!

Thanks for those great pics!

It was the Whispering Pines RV Park. Nice place with lots of trees and is next to the river. Many acres for hiking/dog walks. Only about a mile out of town.
