Cade's Cove - Smoky Mt. NP

..

Has anyone ever spent time at Cade's Cove in Smoky Mountain National Park?
Thoughts?

Looks like the All-Girl Westward Ho trip is not going to take place! :(
So, I have to drag George to the Smokys to get my bear fix for the year!
But, I'll be good to go for the TN GTG alone if he goes to the Smokys!

Hi Mitch, been to CC many times. If you go around dusk in Oct you will be assured of seeing black bear. Been the last few years and have always seen them. BTW, the loop wll be crowded with vehicles (unfortunately) so don't plan to get in a hurry and please don't honk your horn like a lot of people do because they are in a "hurry." Ok, I'll get off my soap box now. LOL

Enjoy.

I booked us in the loop that doesn't allow generators! Gosh, I hate noise! I think it's Loop C? We'll be there Saturday, 9/19, for 3 nights.
Before that, we'll spend a few nights at Fort Mountain State Park in Georgia. Any scoop on that park?

On the way home, I've booked, for 2 nights, the same site I'll have for the GTG in October!
(whew - I'll get to practice my backing up in that specific site!!!!) :o

All these lovely parks for $10/night! Thank you, God, for letting George be old!

Are you saying the loop is crowded because a bear has been spotted, or just because people drive like idiots? :)

Getting practice before the TN GTG, no fair, girl. LOL You will be in Nash about the time I'm on my cruise. :P

Loop is crowded for both reasons but mainly because it's so popular. When a bear is spotted, you will know it because crazies will pull over in the grass, jump out of their cars and run toward the bear(s) so they can get a good picture. No respect for the bear or the grass.

Well something happened and the quote didn't work. Oh well, help!

Your QUOTE didn't work because you were missing the open code (like this, but without the space after the "[" and the space before the "]")

[ quote="sunshinecruiserTN" ]

The QUOTE is ended with [ /quote ]

(hijack)...Carolyn, you're doing a cruise??? Where to? How long? Wahhhhh, I wanna go! I LOVE cruises! Better'n chocolate! Better'n almost anything...other than being in Hope, that is. I even flew down from Boise 4 yrs ago, left Hope in the CG, Sammy in the Kitty Hotel and did a cruise out of New Orleans with my Jeeping GF's for 7 days. Man, I'm jealous!
(end hijack)

Yep going to Western Caribbean for 7 days, been 3 x before but heck it's a cruise and it's cheap. Going for less than $50 per day. Can't beat that. Gonna go up Dunn's River Falls this time. It's carnival liberty and you are welcome to come on aboard. We have 22 going from all over the country + a couple from Canada. Just had the canadians join us last week so there is still room

Would love to and thanks for the invite, but I'm already commited to 4 days at the beach with my jeep club and then I'll be booking it to Tn for the GTG. Maybe next time, don't forget me when you go again!
