Here I am sorry to not checking in. DH is doing better and is able to drive and the eye they were worried about doesn't have any damage. The cheek bones around the eye were fractured but they decided not to do surgery. He fell flat on his face on the sidewalk after dark, a neighbor was driving by and happened to see him go down. It was about 20 degrees and he was unconscious. Had the neighbor not seen him I can't imagine what would have happened as he had rolled off onto the ground face down. DH and I have the same doctor and she never replied to any questions after his accident. In particular when he was in the ER here his lungs were clear, they sent him to St Louis by ambulance and the x-ray there showed both lungs were half full. I sent her the image ans never received a reply. The hospital they sent him to was in St Louis which is 100 miles away. They kept him the rest of the night and he called the next morning saying he had been released but they told him he would have to find a way home!!! Fortunately our friend went to get him.
I have been dealing with high blood pressure and the doctor (the same one DH has) has me on a medication that isn't working well but she wants me to wait to my appointment on the 20th to decide whether to change it or not! I wake up in the night with a headache and can't sleep, so far I have lost 5 pounds that I didn't have to spare! I did go to the ER a week ago and they said I might not be responding to the medication I had been changed to but no change was made even though my regular doctor had expressed the same concern. The heart doctor I've seen for years wants me to do what the regular doctor says and won't advise me as she says I have other issues and it would be best if the other doctor prescribes! So before the heart doctor made that decision she had recommended I take my original med in the morning and the new one at night so I started doing that and it has helped some.

Oh my, BJ, I can't imagine how frustrating it is working with your doctor - in both situations. And the hospital releasing your husband & telling him to figure out his own transportation home. I pray things will even out for both of you shortly.
Take care.

That seems very uncaring of that doctor to not answer your questions and to make you wait so long for your next appt. I have had those middle-of-the-night headaches from high blood pressure, but mine was due to being at a very high altitude. (I woke up at about 3 am one night with a splitting headache and blood pressure was 190/140. Headed to emergency room down the mountain as soon as it got daylight. Once I got to lower altitude, it went down, but emergency room people gave me all the tests to make sure I was OK. I did not get told to come back in two weeks!)

If it were me, I would take my blood pressure when I was having those headaches, and report them to her. If it is really very high, that can be dangerous.

if it wasn't so hard to find another dr I think I would do so...from our view point it sounds cold and uncaring... from another view point possibly no available appt.. it is so hard to know what to do... so glad that your neighbor was were he needed to be to find your husband quickly
take care and what Judy said probably would be a good idea to take B.P on your own and keep track of it
