Such good information, thanks. Beth, I do have one of those small chargers for my phone. My needs have changed. I can no longer see a tv screen unless I sit on top of it which isn’t comfortable. I use the IPad for everything. The IP here went down for repairs, tv in the house worked but not my Ipd. It was a long day. I want to use my phone as a hot spot and keep phone and iPad charged. Am I even understanding that correctly. Lol,
If so I want a larger battery station. ( you are saying generator and I am saying battery station). Are they same thing? Sorry really lacking interminology among other things. I found one on Amazon $149 on sale for $89 which is in my budget. Even enough power for 2 people to charge their devices even though they won’t ever need it. I’m not sure I even know what the he&# I’m talking about but the subject keeps me away from the box of wine.

The battery station is similar but you'd have to have the means to keep it charged which might not be available if your power is out and even if you get solar, you might not have enough sun available. That's why I suggest you get a small gas generator with maybe a 2 gallon gas tank stored on property for the emergency times. That little generator could easily charge your phone and ipad, and maybe a light or small (low wattage) appliance if necessary. And even if gas was limited you'd probably have access to it if necessary sooner during a power outage. Karen has a midsized or slightly bigger gas generator but she's looking to power more than you are. That said, me, I'd go her size or bigger to maybe keep my fridge/ freezer going. But h the small ones would do what you want.

Just more to think about.

Thanks Beth, now I understand. This isn’t my house so do not make major decisions . I can no longer handle gas tanks and generator but do have enough people to hopefully recharge a station if needed. Hope I don’t need but want to be prepared.

The house and appliances are not my responsibility thank goodness.

I have a much better understand of battery charging. Thanks again
