Unlike you, Evie, I started having gall bladder problems in college. Doctors wouldn't even consider it. Just, you described the passion so well. I can't tell you how many nights I'd lay on bed rocking and banging my head against the wall until I sometimes wonder if I'd knock myself out. Then morning, no problem. And since I never ate breakfast and usually a light lunch, my problems only happened at night. So I thought I was going nuts. In my late 20's after moving to Minnesota causing a complete change in doctors, I brought this all up and this doctor sent me for an x-ray. I saved that x-ray for years. The doctor told me he'd never seen the number of stones in any gall bladder before. I've been without my gallbladder over 40 years now and if I've ever had any of the problems I never noticed. I honestly felt so much better even still on the hospital after it was removed. Only this winter, for the first time, I've had some diarrhea occurring, mainly at night, so maybe my luck is changing.
