Colliemom’s New Steps

I mentioned inMorningCoffe that I was building some new steps from. Y door landing to my deck. Thought I would share the pictures with you if you are interested.

This is after I throw the old ones off and have you have to put the new ones in place.

Pieces are all cut out and have been painted.

All finished.

When I started this project I cut and measured everything and made sure that it all fit together in the garage. Everything was perfect. But when I started to install them on the deck itself for some reason the bottom frame was out of line. So I had to do some cutting to get things straightened out. My thought is that the actual framing on the landing itself it’s probably not totally square. Now I have to put a second coat of paint over the whole thing and also paint the lower deck and the railings up above. I’m glad this is done. But it should last for a number of years.

You have amazing talent in woodworking! Are you completely self taught? I'd love to do more, but never learned other than being Mel's chief assistant!
