Thanks for the video. Scotland is one of my absolute favorite places. One of the most memorable experiences I ever had was getting a tire blowout on a road with heavy traffic. I was way out in the country, but managed to pull into the wide entrance of a golf course and called the car rental company. They sent out a road service guy, but there was no spare tire, so he had to take me to a tire shop to buy a tire. It was full of Scotsmen workers who spoke Scottish Gallic to the point where I could barely understand them. When they found out where I was headed, a bunch of them moaned and told me that about 40 miles on, I was going past a famous oyster restaurant and told me I had to stop there. They continued to describe the food with their very heavy accents, and give me tips on what to eat for lunch. They were a funny bunch who obviously loved food, and I loved listening to these young men talk!
Once I had paid for the tire (my insurance later reimbursed me), the road service guy drove me back to my car and changed the tire. Then he gave me directions because I had been hopelessly lost. When I got to the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, of course I had to stop and have salmon for lunch! (I really did not like oysters.) It was in a very isolated place but overlooking the loch, so memorable. Can't get that experience in a tour!!
