Original post:

Counties in San Francisco are being told to shut down and "shelter in place" until April 7:

"Six Bay Area counties announced a 'shelter in place' order for all residents on Monday — the strictest measure of its kind in the country — directing everyone to stay inside their homes and away from others as much as possible for the next three weeks as public health officials desperately try to curb the rapid spread of coronavirus across the region."

The implications of this are NOT good. Both of my (adult) children live in the Bay Area, and are both affected by this shutdown. I have offered for them to come here to my more rural area (as compared to the Big City) before the shut down takes effect at midnight, but looks like they will be staying where they are.

Is it just me, or is this beginning to sound like some dystopian science fiction disaster movie?

Something inside me says this CAN'T be really happening - and yet it IS.

Yep, I’m in one of the 6 counties affected by this shelter in place. Going to be interesting - and boring! Grocery stores, banks, gas stations, pharmacies, child care facilities, laundry businesses, healthcare operations etc. will continue to be open. All travel, including but not limited to walking, biking, driving or taking public transit will be prohibited except for essential activities. Out essential activity will be taking the pups out to do their business.
