Anyone know what these are for?

I found these in the kitchen cupboard today where the previous owner kept her spices. I thought they were miniature salt and pepper shakers. I just discovered the tops do come off with one little hole underneath, so I guess they could be. They are very tiny tho so not sure when/where you would use them.

the one on the right has some powder in it that kind of smells like pepper but not sure.

I think they are individual salt and pepper shakers--each person gets a set. But they are so small, I can't imagine them being very useful because you would be constantly filling them!

I have seen the individual salt & pepper shakers and agree with Judy.

Might be useful in a lunch box/bag or picnic lunch.

Thanks. I think they are adorable! Not real practical but cute, none the less.

Not good for salt and pepper, except perhaps in a lunch box, I agree. They'd be good for spices you don't use often and want to buy fresh, though. Of course, you'd need a bulk seller for the spices and buy tiny amounts.

I have a cut crystal set that was my Grandmothers. Yes you refill them but they are not daily use! They are for formal dinner parties where each guest has a set. I think I have 8 sets.
