At work, we have a stacked washer/dryer. When I was in MN, ours broke down and we got a new one. That lasted about a week, got another one, that lasted a couple days, got another one, that lasted about a month, got another one... they don't make them very good these days.

My new washer (LG Inverter direct-drive, whatever that means  ) is a top loader and is so huge inside that my roommate and I joke about accidentally falling in and never being found again! Seems to work well so far!

I have a friend with a newer top loader and she said that they use less water too. I don't know how that could work very well. She has to put it on some cycle to make it add more water like it was washing something bulky.

Speaking of washers, I need to add laundry to my list of things to do today!
