House Batteries

I‘M going to get new batteries for my trailer his spring and although I currently have an Interstate battery (one at present) was wondering what brand house batteries that you gals are using out there? Are you happy with them? Thry holding up etc... There are many brands and types of deep cycle batteries, hard to decide. Course what’s avaialable in a given area swingscthings in that direction too.

I prefer the no maintenance batteries. Have used Batteries Plus and been happy with them. They did have to replace a battery after 8 months. No issue for them to do that. Good luck.

When I had to replace my house batteries I went with Optima deep cycle no maintenance. Recommended by Liz. Have been pleased with them so far. Got them at O'Rilley's Auto parts

I have the Optima maintenance free batteries too. I got them from Auto Zone. Be sure and measure where you want to put them. I think they had 2 or 3 different ones and some were too tall for my battery tray.

I have 4 interstate...do have to check the water level... but not an issue
I have no problems with them... when the sun shines and the panels do their thing I have lights the ability to charge phone and be on computer... yes I get off computer after couple hours use a battery radio but have lights till 2;30 or so now if it's cloudy different story
so am happy with them

I also recommend no maintenance batteries. Get the best you can afford as far as size, that will fit.

Maintenance free here, also. I had my older batteries replaced just this winter while in Q.

Thanks ladies. This has been rather educational researching batteries. Forgot to ask you if you are using 12 or 6 volt batteries. There are pros and cons to both. If you really want to get into it, there’s flooded cell (water), Gel, AGM etc. Each has their own ad sntages/disadvantages. A lot depends on what you do, like a lot of boondocking or plugged into Shore power, etc. I’m sure you all know this stuff. One thing that interests me, is that my current battery which came with the trailervis a dual purpose battery. It can be used as both a starting battery or deep cycle. Don’t know if it came from factory that way or was put in before I bought it. Really don’t need a lot of cranking amps when there’s no engine.
