really enjoyed your visit so far... it's a place that I would love to go to but also from descriptions not so sure I would want to tow the 5th wheel up me being the woose I am.. Malia went a couple years ago she couldn't make herself leave ... think she was there most of the summer. I love to see red rocks... you make it back to WY when I am there we will go find them...

I like Dead Horse Ranch and the general area, especially Cottonwood, but Sedona was forever spoiled for me because I first visited there about 30 years ago. The valley was empty and Sedona was three blocks long, with maybe one gas station. Then it became so popular that the big chain stores moved in, and they built thousands of homes and condos and filled in the beautiful valley.

Don't mean to spoil it for you all, but every time I am there, I remember the sleepy artist's town without all the commercialism and the valleys and red hills without streets and homes.

Judy, I think about that history every time I travel through a "popular" tourist attraction. I enjoy looking at the old pictures in the museums and imagining the transformations.....

Judy, I feel that way about so many places. But the beauty remains in most of them. So I try to focus on that these days. Heck, the Black Hills and particularly Rapid City have grown too much in just the 5 summers I've been there and I think this summer I'll notice more. Tucson to me feels like Phoenix of years ago. And I preferred Tucson because it was smaller. Not so much anymore. I wonder about younger generations who really never saw things as we did. Heck, my first time to Mesa Verde nothing was fenced off, etc. And while there were many people there, nothing like the crowds of today. I have no desire to ever return to Yellowstone. Okay, I'm going on and on... I think we get to an age where we truly wax nostalgic. I understand more and more comments of my parents and grandparents!
