Fires in CA

As of the noon hour, there are at least 15 wildland fires up and down the state, the largest east of Lakeport. So if you have California camping plans or travel plans anywhere in the state, do check fire websites and maps! It's looking like a bad fire season and it's very early in our season, very hot (temps 95-105 for the 10 days ahead) with very low humidity and breezes to windy conditions with red flag warnings, road closures, and smoke near fires but smoke moving with wind.
Do be careful, ESP if, like me, you have respiratory issues.

Velda, how close is this to you & Mel? I hope you don't have to evacuate.

I worry about you two and keep you in my prayers.

No wildland near us. Nearest wildland fire about 140 miles away. Worst we might get is some bad smoke days. But thanks for thinking of us.

I hate hearing about these fires. Especially this time of year. Besides the homes being threatened, I always think about all the baby wildlife that can't escape. :(

So far, no fires down this way.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
