Plans changed!

Well, I got my car packed with the cooler with more groceries, firewood, and clean clothes and left for an appointment in Lake Placid and was then going on to the campground where my camper is.

Hmmmm....... what is that strange skipping feeling in the way the car's running???? and what???? WHAT??? the engine light is on! So as I was almost to my Ford dealer I pulled in and went into the service department,... describing the situation. So,..... 4 hours later, after some repair work I'm back home. It seems that the engine has parts called ignition coils, and 2 of mine were gone! They will finish the job tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. I was grateful they could work me in today and again tomorrow a.m. I got the ok to drive it the short distance back to my house and then back again to the dealer in a.m. And,...for now I'm only down about $159,.... not bad.

Needless to say Middy is glad I'm home again tonight,... She misses me when i'm gone o'nite camping,... even though i leave plenty of food and water and a clean litter box, it's just not like having her "mom" at home!

Cedar, so sorry your plans were ruined, but happy to know it isn't anything major major...and to boot, Middy is thinking this is a GOOD thing. The camper will still be there tomorrow.

Rats. But better engine trouble here than out on the highway. Can you still go?

So glad you are getting help-- & you didn't start out on a HWY some place & you be stranded!!!!!
We had a miracle on Sunday coming home also---we were several hours from home yet- &--- our car was shifting down by it's self- & then the trac brakes would come on by them selves while going down the road-------we made it 30 miles to the next town----& stopped at a business that he did car security installation & car sound systems-------we told him we knew he was not a mechanic-but could he recommend some one------ he said they are all closed today------- but my Dad was a mechanic for 50 years & some of it rubbed off on me maybe I can help you----- he said you just caught me--here doing some book work as I'm not really open & I was waiting on my wife to come pick me up----to make a really long story short-he found the problem & fixed it for $20.00!!!!!!!
We just said thank you Jesus- thank you Jesus----- thank you Jesus!!!!!
the week end before we were coming home from our warehouse in our PU truck----- & it was late & we stopped for something to eat--- went back out to start the truck---- & the starter in the steering column just turned & kept turning & did nothing---------we called a tow truck & they towed us into a mechanic shop there in that town-----& I called my cousin who lived in that town & she gave us her new car to drive home that night-- Hubby had to take off work the next day---to take the car back & get the PU- the tow job & the work cost us $500.00-something we were not planning on------ but praise God for the help we received!!!!!!!!
And it was on a Sunday night late & everything was closed!!!!!!! And my cousin had been out of town all weekend & had just walked into the house as the phone was ringing with us calling her!!! Praise God for the help we received!!!!!!!!!!!

So sorry you're missing one night of your camping, but so glad that it happened right by your dealer and you can get it fixed quickly and without too big a dent in your pocketbook. Will you go to the cg from the dealer tomorrow? You have all the supplies ready :)

youbetcha I'll be headed for the campground tomorrow! My appointment at the dealer is at 8:30,... and was told it shouldn't take long tomorrow to finish the job. So true with what you all said about being lucky it happened only a few miles from home and that I was close to the dealer. whew! I think it may run another $159+ tomorrow for the second part,... but still could have been a LOT worse.

Good to be here with the gang tonight,.... and yes, Zeee,.... I'll be there for coffee in a.m. :D

A little off topic. Went to camp on Saranac Lake for many years. Use to go to Lake Placid to ice skate and have ice cream at this place that if you ate this enormous banana split -a pig something- and you would get a pin that said "I'm a pig". AAAH memories. :D carold
