batteries

some times we need to ask questions to start the juices flowing
so the other day when I was in Vegas needed to go get the regular dd batteries...
for the toothbrushes. my sister said to make sure I didn't get alkaline as they aren't any good
so the question is on just those batteries for tooth brushes flashlights you know the ddd, dd, c ect is there a good or bad??? if so why?? and what??? between alkaline and non alkaline

Obviously I'm out of the loop... I always buy alkaline. And alkaline sell best at the store.
