Boy BJ, that was malpractice to give you Valium after you state allergy!! Easily could have killed you. I wonder if it was a different drug by IV as there are several amnesic drugs they can sedate you with besides Valium so you are awake but don't remember it. I will probably ask for no Valium as I did not do well with it years ago. Not allergic but went off the mental deep end for nearly 24 hours ( drove to work 12 hours after one pill. Didn't remember drive, was 3 hours late. Laughed at boss when he told me I was late. Definitely shouldn't not have been driving.) It's important to discuss options before hand.
Nope Valium not for pain but anti anxiety and help you relax and not be fearful. Maybe 15 years ago, injection of local into nerves behind eye was still common. Now most doctors use numbing drops as only anesthesia. Some report feeling slight pressure but no pain.

I bet your boss was surprised! Very scary.

What a relieve to know I have a choice! I'm pretty sure I can relax myself.

The most amusing thing over my problem with Valium was where I worked: at a mental hospital!!
