Takata Airbag recall being expanded

Just read on news airbag recall expanding. Newest announcement is for newer cars. Originally prior to 2008, now updated for many newer cars. So far Honda is going to send notices for 2009 to 2014 vehicles INCLUDING the Fit! so if you bought a used vehicle stay on this. Honda says can't get parts until summer! How many can simply park their car until retrofitted!!?? Gets scarier and scarier. I'm still waiting to see if our Chrysler PT is eventually included.

Scary is mild . . . the airbags deployed in my car while on the way to work about a year ago. Thankfully, I was going slow, was not hurt and did not hit anything. The dealer coordinated with Takata and took care of everything, including a rental car, for free. However, it took months to resolve and was incredibly stressful. I received a "Pre Recall" notice a year before the actual recall. During that time, the dealer did not have the part and no solution had been determined.

I have since changed cars and find it very upsetting this could happen again. Everyone, please keep checking the recall list to see if your car is on the list. As I found out, it can happen to you.
