On to Lake Louise and Lake Moraine...can't get much better.

We headed further up the road to Lake Louise and Lake Moraine. I felt so lucky to have a long day trip but I could have easily spent weeks if I had the RV with me.

I wish I knew where the pictures are which I took of that hotspot and glacier about 55 years ago when I was there with my parents. Sure has shrunk. Beautiful place though still.

so what causes the color in the lakes?
Bear lake is a lake on the Idaho Utah border has a beautiful color in that case caused
by the reflection from the sky it normally is a beautiful blue...one day I told my husband I
was going to ask them how many bottles of food color it took to get it that color...he thought
I shouldn't but it is typical tourist question

How much longer will you be in Strathmore? I will be back in Calgary on Monday the 17th for a few days before heading back east. We could meet at Timmies for coffee if your schedule allows.

Sheila......the color of the water comes from the rock "flour" that rivers deposit in the lake. The different colors were really beautiful.

Brendac.......alas, I am already home in Texas and scrambling to catch up on blog posts from my trip. We had a fabulous trip home so there are many more pictures and blog posts to come.

Liz....I'm not done with the Banff area mountains yet as we came back home through there.
