BEWARE - WEIRD EMAILS

I got an email from BluePineCones and Birdbybird this AM. They went directly to my spam folder and the title indicated it was something about Oprah. I didn't open either one of them because they were suspicious.

DON'T OPEN any emails from them yet. I PM'd both of them. My guess is they've been hacked.

Thanks for the alert……you are correct, I DID NOT send any e-mails out this morning, in fact just got on computer for first time today.

One thing I have noticed is if I mouse over the name the email addy shows up. If it is bogus you will recognize it right away, it usually is a yahoo acct in most of my cases.

My password has been changed as soon as Ianded for the night....now the weird messaged will be directly from me

I don't check my spam folder often - but just checked and they were there. Gotta love my spam catcher - it does good.

Orelover, I've noticed that Hotmail accounts are more prevalent in my spam folder.

Things have been sent from my e-mail that I did not send and people let me know... I sometimes look in the sent folder to be sure nothing has gone out...
Scary when they (my repair people) say my iMac is completely secure!

Judi they don't work have ordered dozens and they don't fit... lol jk how do these fools get our addresses...

I don't think the Macs are that secure any more Kathleen. I just read an article saying the Mac's are having problems because the virus protection for Windows are really kept up with and the Mac people haven't done much in the way of developing anti-virus programs and now that it is becoming an issue they are in trouble. I put tried one called Sophos Anti Virus for Mac and had to take it off, my computer got so slow I couldn't use it.

Actually, Macs are more secure from viruses and hacking because of the way the hard drives are structured, and how those drives are accessed. A precaution to take is to never connect to to an .edu site.
