It's been quite a while since I've posted here on the boards. I have been checking in now and then to see how folks are doing. Trying to keep up with Beth and Liz's travels alone is a daunting task. Although I've been away from the forum for a long time, I am still out here on the road and loving the rv woman life. So much so in fact that I bought myself a new motorhome this summer. As soon as I can remember how to do it I will upload pix.
Good to see that all you ladies are still out having fun and enjoying the rv life. A girlfriend of mine in Nashville just bought a used Road trek and contacted me with questions. I sent her to you girls for info since I know some of you have or have had one and I know nothing about them. She enjoyed a couple of outings before winterizing and is planning some more trips when the weather warms. As for me, well I've been splitting time between volunteering with Fish and Wildlife in New Mexico and working for a national park concessionaire in Nevada and Oklahoma. Also spent some time roaming the road a bit taking time for myself. Spent Christmas 2012 in GA helping my brother and SIL through her bypass surgery. Unfortunately this past September I had to park my rig in New Mexico and fly back to Georgia to help him with her final days and memorial service. Got to return to the refuge and stayed until the end of their Sand Hill Crane Festival. Drove slowly across Texas on the southern route stopping in Aransas to see the whooping cranes. Am now home in Tennessee seeing my grands for the first time in 2 years. My how they've grown. Had planned to leave here by 1/15 but another medical emergency has me staying longer. My SIL had to have emergency bypass (starting to see a theme here? think I should stay away at Christmas) at Vanderbilt. Came home on Christmas Eve but had a stroke early Christmas morning. Back to hospital for 3 days. Now he is slowly moving forward in his healing. I will stay around to help with getting him to rehab for a while so my stepdaughter can get back to work. Isn't it a blessing that this lifestyle allows us to be there for times like this. But I'm looking forward to getting back to work for Fish and Wildlife.
Read over the boards and it looks like most of us had a good holiday time with very little disruption except Barbie. So sorry you're having to go through the health and home issues with your father. Will keep you in my prayers.
