Great Visit with Kelpie

Postby retiredhappy » Sat Mar 07, 2009 8:38 pm

Just got back from having dinner with Kelpie - Italian. We've had a great visit and I'll be sorry to see her go. She's leaving Monday heading down to San Antonio to see her son. I'm leaving Monday for the GTG in Port Lavaca. Kelly said she most likely will come back here next winter in maybe January - whooo hoooo!!!! Come on - anyone else want to winter in Texas next year?

I want to winter somewhere warmer than SW Ohio next year. I keep listening to peoples comments and enjoy the pictures. I would love to be near a beach or a State Park that allows dogs to walk through. But then If I make it down somewhere I doubt that I would just park. I know that it is less expensive but I would hope to be able to move around and see different stuff. Texas being such a tiny place and all! I am thinking hard.....

Me, too, Tina! I will be a year after you, so whatever you do next year, I will be watching with great fascination! Take lots of pics, please!!! And the TX area is looking pretty nice with some of those walkable-parkable beaches.

Happy travels!

Glad you two had a good visit.

It will be at least three more years before I am fully retired again. I will wait until my granddaughter is out of highschool (read: no longer playing highschool basketball) before I will leave for the winter. That's ok with me,... absolutely. Then I'm not sure whether or not I'll go south for winters or stay here. I really enjoy being close to my family. Guess I'll just have to see what the next 3 years bring for me.

I'm looking forward to seeing pics of the Port L. gtg.

Safe traveling to you Kelpie and to Karen, and others too.
