Had a very nice little trial weekend. Stayed Fri and Sat nights. Hamm Creek Park is a small but lovely campground on the Brazos River here in North Central Texas. It is not widely known, so stays quiet and undisturbed. There are 5 full hookups, about 20 partials, maybe 10 (didn't count them) equestrian sites and several (25/30) tent sites along the river. Very clean and newly updated. The rivers here have all be very low, and just recently received heavy rains that brought this one up to the point boats can now start launching and docking.

The MH did wonderfully. That big old E350 just performed wonderfully. Going down, the wind was rather stiff, but it didn't have any problem. Of course at on 21/22 ft it is not heavy. All systems did well. I did have a time keeping the water heater lit, the winds were strong enough to blow it out. Some things I forgot - extension cords (all plugs inside are under the upper cabinets), chocks, levelers ( just plane forgot to put them in) and an old green water hose to flush holding tank. Of course this was the main reason for the trip anyway!!

Nest weekend I'll be a little better prepared I hope.

One thing I've got to figure out - the jack-knife couch is weak/broken down in the center of the bottom. I'm going to replace the couch this fall/winter, but for now I've got to devise a way to sleep on it without laying on that HARD metal brace!!! The dinette is fine with a mattress thingee from walmart. But that couch - OUCH!!

Well, time to take the dirty clothes out and wash them. I did have fun!!!

I'm glad you had a good time. You'll learn something with each trip. Can you post a pic of the brace that's causing the pain? Maybe one of those water noodles could be cut to go over it till you replace it?

Maybe a foam pad over it like a mattress topper? Glad you had a good time. When we picked up our first rv, my van in Canada we stopped a lot a Walmarts in our first week figuring out daily what we needed. It was a learning process. But to sleep in our own bed and stop anywhere for lunch or a nap without our feet hitting ground was priceless.

So glad the outing went so well. Small bumps are to be expected and we all bring things we don't need and forget things we do need! Hope you always have smooth sailing.

Aaaahhhh!! Water noodle. I'll see if I can get to the brace, but not sure if a noodle will slip over it. I've tried this afternoon a large throw pillow, the ones that are fat in the middle and taper off to the edges. It helped in the sitting, but I will see if I can find an oversized one that fits better. I'm not yet able to take and post pictures, but grand daughter should be here to help me in a day or two. I HATE getting older and older, while computers get newer and newer!!!
