A spot to park Myrtle?

Postby bikerchic777 » Sun Jun 01, 2014 2:34 pm

Just wondering if any of the sistahs lives near the top of IL or IN or the bottom of MI? I would like to go up to visit Ken and some other friends in MI, but really don't want the fuel expense to take Myrtle up there. I will have places to stay, so don't really need to take her. She is a 34' Class A, as you can see by my pic. She would so appreciate a safe place to rest, while she awaits my return. It would be from probably June 15th or 16th until maybe July 2nd.

Linda wish I could, but I live in one of the newer subdivisions that doesn't allow campers, boats or work trucks parked in the driveways. Good luck.

Thanks, Cheryl, but I figured it out. I am in IL for my nephew's wedding, tomorrow. I told Ken I would pick up the TV and spare tire they left out of his new RV. He asked if I could leave Myrtle there for a couple of weeks, at the dealership. They said I could, so VOILA!!! God provides :D

Glad you found a solution, Linda. I was going to tell you to bring her on over to my place. I have plenty of room.

As strange as this may sound, sometimes you can park RVs at airports. I parked mine in Tampa in a huge, airport-owned lot for only $9 a day, and it was right where the shuttle drivers drove past every few minutes so I figured it was super safe.

More and more subdivisions in suburbs, especially, are not allowing RVs in driveways. My old condo in Michigan would not allow them for more than a couple of hours to load up. I stay in a nearby state park when I visit my Ohio son because his place does not allow them.

Thanks for the offer ;) If I didn't already have this arranged, I would have taken you up on your offer. It would have made a good excuse for a mini gtg :D As it turned out, this worked out perfect. It saved the dealership $ by not having to ship a TV and spare RV tire & helped me out. I got to park it between new fivers and TT's, out back. I emptied out the fridge and freezer and turned off the batteries, so there would be no drain. I told the guy I would be leaving it for a couple of weeks and he said it was no problem as long as I have it insured. I told him I do, inside and out.
