[quote="Pooker I played glockenspiel. Anyone know what that is?

Yes, I played one in HS too. Did you play the Gillette song - ding ding ding, - ding ding ding ding ding? Marching down a football field and playing in a hot itchy band uniform - oh those were the days, my friend.

Yeah - I know - I haven't figured out how to "quote" yet.

Just hit the quote button and then, if you want the whole quote to appear, make sure your cursor is after everything in the quote. Or you can edit the quote like I just did, to get a specific part of the quote (no changing words tho!)

My dad played clarinet so both my older brother and I did too. I took piano for years. Now, however, with my RA, I find my hands just don't work like they used too. I do miss it.

this has been an interesting topic. Learn more about some of you, I play the radio, occasionally. Always thought I would like to play the piano, but never an opportunity and when older and could have , to many other things to do.

And Beth, had to laugh, no Peaches doesn't run away, where or how could she get away from you   Maggie, tolerates me too, for the same reason, she hasn't figured out how to open the door here

So from this thread I take it that we will NOT be singing campfire songs in KS? LOL ;)

Took piano lessons....guess you have to practice to succeed...imagine that! Played first chair trombone in high school band...haven't played since Memorial Day in 1969. I was a girl's chorus reject in a school of less than 200 students. The director finally took pity on me because I was the only girl in last period study hall (that really wasn't THAT bad ;) ) and told me I could be in chorus if I promised not to sing.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Ha ha, I don't play the autoharp in public either, at least not yet. I have a mountain dulcimer too, but haven't played in a while, not sure I would remember any songs. I play because it relaxes me, certainly not because I am any good. However, on the trip this week I over did it, and had muscle spasms in my back. I wasn't sure I could drive home! Thankfully I had taken a microwave hot pack, which helped a great deal. Tonight I made up for the lack of wine at the bluegrass festival.... Yep wine and a heating pad for my back.
Regarding singing, the best way to sum up my ability is something I was told once by a 9 year old in church ( I was 17)..... " God doesn't want to hear you sing". I haven't sung loud enough for anyone to hear me since.
Off we go....

I played drums in high school but am not generally musically inclined so I'm in awe of those who can play any instruments.
