I have a 1/2 ton Chevy Silverado. When I was attempting to sell my big 30 foot Class C, I asked a dealer if he would take my Class C in on a trade for a truck. Long story short, he did.
I then took the truck to the Northstar dealer and he told me what size camper would fit on the truck. I highly recommend this Northstar dealer as he really knew his stuff about weights etc on the truck. I did have air springs put on the truck.
Truck is 2x2 as I won't be going "off road".
This camper is very small. At night when my 60# dog is sleeping on the floor I step over and around her. I have never been in a truck camper that did not have uncomfortable seats. I use pillows to make them comfortable.
I also have a porta potty. Because I am short in height I can get in and out of the camper with the roof lowered.
Storage is fine for clothes...there is absolutely no storage for food. The refrigerator is very nice.
I spent a month in this camper and the dog and I got along fine. It is easy to drive. A month is probably the longest I will be away from home. And, the camping area I choose must have a place to dump the porta potty.
