I never had any problems with anything being taken. But I also wouldn't leave things if I thought it was iffy. Well, wouldn't leave as much lol I always left my sewer hose, water hose, levelers if out ... unless staying a long time, I put most items away at night (just habit).

Leaving the "Easy Up" awning out with chairs, etc., around it, isn't any different that the campsites that have tents on them or trailers with bikes and chairs out and the car/truck is gone from the site taking the folks off sight seeing. Is there a risk. Yes. But start looking around the camp grounds and you realize how much stuff is left out during the day and the folks are away..... The question is, is it a risk that you can live with....I keep reminding myself that it is just stuff. And it isn't as if I am leaving my computer out on the table as I drive off.

This has been an extremely interesting thread to read-----thanks for all who contributed. I still don't know what the ideal rig/setup for me would be, but am leaning toward a good-sized camper van that can tow heavy loads, and a very small and light-weight travel trailer that would provide more room for extended stays somewhere. For weekends, I could just use the van. For living, I could use the trailer as I do now. It's always a mind-boggler trying to figure it all out for me, anyway!
