Right now I'm a stow trainer/ambassador - which means I'm teaching people to fill the shelves and helping them. They are currently filling those shelves. When the robots themselves are put to work, the stowers will be at stations - filling the shelves that are brought to them, instead of having to walk through aisle after aisle. In the video you couldn't differentiate between when the shelves were being brought to be filled or to have product removed.

While it's always been a challenge teaching people to fill shelves correctly, it's more of one now because we have to make them understand that the shelves filled incorrectly (which the robot won't know) might mean product falling out, etc - so correct is a must! - Before it was important but now even more so.

Yes, Beth, Moorhead is where we stayed. I could not recall the name. We stayed in one of the front few sites near the restrooms. Drove down the road (south) then turned west and to the winery. Nice place, with a larger parking area in rear. Nice people. I think the winery was Wind something? When I was growing up, Tracy grew tomatoes, mostly. Later they branched out to dry beans, and now wine. Interesting how time carries change.
Sorry you don't get to see the robots at Amazon this year. Wish we were coming down that way, so we could say Hi.

Love the robots! They had a segment on one of those shows like "How do they do that" that showed those robots and how they lay the grid and program the computers to keep from running into each other. Less human runners and more human techs to take care of the robots and the computer system.

I just picture them all going berserk and crashing into each other and stuff flying all over! :o

Pretty amazing!

They probably want to wait until things are slower after the holidays to implement it and work out the bugs and get people trained thoroughly before it gets busy again.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
