Way to go Sarah. I so proud of you for trying this whole thing including deciding to come to MI. Now you are headed home with some experiences under your belt you would have never had otherwise. You had some great teachers with you.

And now that you have made two trips across the Mackinac Bridge, you can go anywhere. You go girl1 :D

Thank you, ladies.
Having discovered on this trip that there are parks where water is not on site, it is nice to be able to draw from tank instead of hauling extra jugs of water for flushing. Also handy when cold and not wanting to fool with wet hoses. Now just need to remember to turn that pump on and off and not drain the lines in between.
Sharon: CA might be a bit of a far for now but who knows.
Beth: Funny you should mention Jean (Sparkle) laughing butt off. I had same thought the other day. Know I surprised her when I bought Magic too.

I figured if it was just me - a plate, a bowl, a pot, a frying pan & a sauce pan. Just how much stuff do I need to buy?

Cheryl, you really do not have to buy much for cooking/eating.
That comment was a dig at me for only using my microwave. Actually I've never cooked on gas and would likely burn everything if I tried. Think you would have to get on floor and crawl into my oven to light it anyway. Am thinking I might get a small toaster oven and maybe a crook pot when I figure out where they might ride.

Ladies, you have to use your propane stove. It is so much better than electric -- instantly hot and instantly off with the amount of heat you need. Come on, don't you want a nice omelet or grilled cheese once in a while? We don't have an onboard oven, but set up a small convection oven outside when we want to bake. There are some things that are better in an oven, and of course I only want to make them when we are camping and have time to cook.

Sarah, CA really isn't that far when you think of all the stops on the way to GTG with everyone. Consider it inching your way west. Isn't it amazing all the things you have learned and how easy they seem now that you know how to do them? Gosh, just hitching the TT was a biggie for me. We had to have help because we couldn't figure out the dump. We thought the toilet was broken for six months and were looking at new ones before we figured out all we had to do was turn on the pump to get the toilet to flush. Duh! Just learned to remove a ledge shelf in the refrigerator to fit more bulky items on the top shelf.

My personal challenge is backing the TT. I have managed to do it, but it is nerve wracking and avoided at all costs. In fact, when I not book a campground if there is not a pull through available or friends who can back up for me. I know it's wimpy, but I don't care. That TT has a mind of it's own and never goes where it is supposed to when I am backing.

Proud of you Sarah. Waiting to hear about your next exploits!

Sarah, I like Linann's suggestion. To get to California (and Sharon's) all you need to do is map a course from Sister to Sister with a few overnites in between when needed. You will be there before you know it and wonder why you didn't try it earlier. (Take care of that tooth pain. before heading back out though....) :)

When I first started driving my motorhome, I was terrified of bridges. I was trying to figure out how to go places without going over them. Now, I just drive over them, no problems. Yesterday, I drove over a very narrow two-lane and then a one lane in Cove Palisades State park.

You will get the hang of all of this very quickly! Just takes some experience.
