Thank you, Beth. I just recovered my photobucket account. That was taken at the Gila Cliff Dwellings in NM in June.

If you make it all the way down to LA w/o getting your genny fixed go see the guys at Colton Truck Terminal in Colton. A little bit of a drive from LA but they know what they're doing there. It's the only place Miss Hope goes for repairs and service. There's also a place in Santa Maria on the way down the coast but dang if I can remember the name. Really really good guys there, too. And in Oregon there's Quality Coach Services in Eugene. 541-343-1120. Not sure if they work on gennys, but they'll know someone trustworthy to do so. Unfortunately, the generator is one of those componants that is hard to find someone good to work on it. But travel safe and have fun!!! Oh....a picture or 2 would be nice...just sayin'....

I like the new avatar, too, but it makes you look short, like Beth, not the height you really are...

Catherine, this is so exciting. One of my many nightmare fantasies is getting out there and having the gennie konk (how do you spell conk?) out. But now that you've been there and done that, I realize ain't no biggie. Batteries will be charged from driving all day. So thanks! Hope you find a fix, soon. I'm being silly. It's encouraging to know that you're out there and you can handle whatever comes up. Yay! Catherine!

Hi all,
Well I made it!! Pics are on the phone & I don't have a connection to upload. Haven't taken many, but realized today why they are so important. The beauty of the mountains of WA is so stunning I wish I could capture everything I saw to retain it forever - tough to do as I drove. Stopped once and snapped a couple - will see if they are posting quality later.

Love being here with my brothers & soon-to-be SIL. Baby bro sat down & played piano tonight & brought tears to see that same little boy as a grown-up man. I'll be a mess during the wedding.

Thanks for the heads up on cummins, Karen. I'll check out what they charge before making an appt And thanks Sharon, for the LA recommendations. I might have time to make some calls tomorrow. And Beth thanks for reminding me that I'm fine for a night or two - Did fine last night without hookups. My batteries don't charge when I drive but I may get that solar set up that Mitch got sooner rather than later, :)

What I have learned is it isn't the end of the world to not have something work - as long as the van can drive we'll be fine. And that you are such a great group of friends,, so happy to be a part of this family :D

Plugged in at my bro's for now & can just find a cg if I need to on the way to Cali

Best news is I'm letting Sadie roam without holding her leash around here. Very happy to find she stays close & comes quickly when I call if I can't see her. She is definitely my perfect companion. :D

And Joan I love your new avatar too! Great pic!

Later...

Yes, those mountains are gorgeous. And with or without pictures, you have the memories. I've learned I keep even not the best pictures. Sometimes looking at them even out-of-focus, brings what I really saw back to mind for me - and the blur disappears before my eyes. Of course, others won't see that, so I don't share those :)

If your batteries don't charge while driving, that should be something that could be done easily - as they should. It's all in how the connection to them is done. I'd have that checked out and done - as that alone makes an overnight simple when on the road and without hookups. It's the engine battery that would be charging the aux battery when driving. I'm wondering if something simply isn't connected properly. Wish I could show you - but I'm NOT good with electronics. I take pics of how my things should be - and never did with my new battery set-up after solar  - guess I need to do that!

Sounds like a fun trip, Catherine, generator or no generator! Sounds as if you and Sadie have become totally bonded and that she is becoming a real road dog! Remember lots of hankies for the wedding. Just hearing 'Puff the Magic Dragon' and 'Turn Around' and the 'Cat's in the Cradle' music makes me weep so hard I can't see or sing. My kids think I am just an overgrown crybaby, and I guess I am indeed!

Happy trails, and I hope you meet you one day somewhere down the line!

Happy travels!
