Don't let the turkeys get you down!! The salesmen! Or women for that matter. Go and look at as many rigs as possible. Look at A's, B's, C's...all lengths. Take paper and pencil and write down what you like and don't like. Make lists. Where will you be traveling...forests, campgrounds, want hook-ups or not. Boon docking?

Figure out how much money you have to spend. Will you pay cash or finance it? There will be expenses after you buy it. I just spent $300 last month on little gadgets for my new small truck camper. Today gasoline is a big expense. The larger, heaver rig will get less mileage. Big A's 8 or 9 miles per gallon. Small C's and B's around 15 mpg.

Have you read all the blogs on this forum? That will give you some ideas of the live style. Fulltime or week end trips? What kind of rig would you need to go to the Penn gtg?

Altho frustrated now, keep your eye on how happy you will be when you have the rig and can travel!

Don't be shy about asking questions of this forum.

How true on the extra expenses. If you can afford it, get the extras added on from the beginning. Think there was a thread on upgrades people did to their RV's. Look at features on other RV's and if the one your looking at does not have it, maybe the dealer can upgrade it as part of your purchase. Wish I would have added the 2nd A/C unit from the start but then again I think a heat pump is the better option. Some changes just happen over time as you live in it. We have a dinette for now but one day when the GB gets bigger I will probably change it for a table and chairs. Would also rather have a pair of recliners over the sleeper sofa but for now we can get all three of us on the sofa to watch some TV. Some upgrades look nice but when you talk to others they may not be right for you. Look at how you live and what you want to do with it and go from there.

There is no perfect RV but there is a RV right for what you want to do. We don't have the prefect 5'r but I have the right one for what we need at this point in time. By the way if you have a tow vehicle and a trailer you get to do upgrades on both  Sometimes I think its a race between the truck and the trailer. :o Twice the money drain

It took me over 9 months to find the unit I wanted. So, take your time and make sure you get what you want.

And while it is good to listen to advice, only you know what will make you comfortable.

Make sure you test drive whatever you decide on. People tell you an A is easier to drive than a Class C, but I am short and could not reach the pedals of a Class A or adjust the sun visors unless I put the seat so far up the steering wheel stuck in my stomach, so I went for a Class C and am very happy.

What you buy needs to fit you, so take your time. One day you will find something you will fall in love with.

Ok everyone thank you for all the fabulous information. I went for my orientation of the FROG today and video taped it. Wow I'm also going down on Thursday to pick it up and park it for my three day two night free stay at Camping World but had to buy a few things first but I did it and I'm in awe...........I can't bring it home until I get the driveway enlarged its 9 feet now and impossible to pull into with the 30 foot so I'm on the phone constantly with the County Dept. to get the culvert in. But I'm so syked and you all were a big part of me making the leap of faith. Thank you all for your wisdom, confidence and comrodery (sorry spelling is off). I owe you all your the greatest.
Hugs, Jeanine :D
