Antivirus 2009

I don't know if this should have gone into the tech/maintenance section or not??? But I do know that I want people to see this.

I started getting this pop-up last night about this antivirus 2009. Looked like something from AVG because of the colors and it could have also been something from MSN because of shape. I use Mozilla/Firefox on my laptop for a browser. The ONLY time I use IE is when I want to go play a few games that they have. And apparently I pick this this up off from a different game I wanted to try. It redirected me to another website.

Anyway I started fighting with this damn antivirus 2009 last night. Looked thru my programs and in add/remove. Looked everywhere I could think of to find and get rid of it. Today no matter where I went on the net the damn thing kept popping up in front of my face. Breaking point? I wanted to play a game and it kept hijacking my IE page, every time I clicked on the IE page to go to games the thing took over again. Finally I got so monstrously frustrated today I actually whimpered. Kelly finally asked me what the heck my problem was and I explained it to her. She got to checking things out. She could not find the crap either. She finally Googled antivirus 2009 and found just what we needed. Come to find out this so called program is a rouge malware program. It lies and 'finds' all this bad stuff that it says is on your computer. What a pain in the azz.

Below is a link to the MalWare program that she found and downloaded to get rid of the antivirus garbage. Rather interesting read.

Oh I had that problem, but it went away on its own, finally. It's probably lurking just waiting to pounce at a crucial moment.
