What a way to initiate your new rig! I love Flat Stanley and hope he will accompany you on future trips. How fun. Would you ever have believed you would run into that much snow??? Of course, I am having a hard time believing the freezing nights here lately in TX. You just never know what you are going to run into. I guess that is what makes RVing so fun...a surprise around every corner.

Our next stop was Little Rock, AR. Great little CG good for overnights with a view of downtown Little Rock. Right across the river from the Clinton presidential library.



Then we drove through Hot Springs, AR to Nacogdoches, TX last night. Parked next to a little lake.




Should make it home this afternoon. I actually drove a little over 100 miles yesterday!! DH kept telling me how stressful and how hard it was. Then I finally said it is my turn. It is country highway with little traffic and tomorrow (today) we'll be in Houston traffic. It was like the proverbial saying, "it's like riding a bicycle". I used to drive a class A Winnebago Chieftain back in 1972 from Orange Co up over the old grape vine route to Bakersfield, CA regularly with only the dogs and a baby. XDH would meet me up there. I also drove it all the way up CA HI 1 from L.A. to Monterey, CA along the Big Sur coast. Driving RED is so much easier. DH at first was nervous, them fell asleep. He said I should drive all the time. But I don't want to drive all the time, thank you very much. This is one job we will share. And he does not want to learn how to use the navigation system or the app to find CGs. So we have to find a middle ground.

Experimented with different spots for Tyler while on the road. This is the best. It is meant to store the recliner. However the recliner takes up too much room and is wobbly. So, it'll go out to the barn along with the coffee table when we get home. A much better use of the space

I see LOTS of trips in your future, Chris! With all due respect to your DH ... I think he's going to enjoy sending you off on your own more than getting behind the wheel and hitting the road.

Both you and DH must not be recliner lovers...I loved your arrangement in the 5er with those beautiful leather recliners. If Red was mine the sofa would have to go and put those recliners in it's place...I'm back in my house and I bought a wide recliner so Rudy could be in it with me..Now he prefers the sofa and I have this big thing all to myself...oh well, I might expand to fit it in the next 10 years...ha ha
Red, get in it sometime and head up to Greers Ferry Lake...There are many beautiful rec areas, one just down the road from me but I happen to love one in particular that is farther from me..I can see you out there on a little sunfish...there might be a way to put it on the back like bikes but maybe you already have bikes...

My granddaughter Brynne had a project for school. She was supposed to make a flat paper doll with a photo of her head attached so it was a paper doll of herself - "flat Brynne." Then they were supposed to send their flat self to someone and that person would take pictures of the paper doll around their city, town, village, farm,....... Brynne sent hers to me and I took flat Brynne all around our town and flat Brynne was in all the photos. I included lots about the history of local Native Americans and Irish immigrants, art projects throughout the city, etc. Then I sent a whole binder back with the pictures, description and a mock certificate from the City proclaiming it "Flat Brynne Day" commemorating her visit. She then shared it with the class and they got an interesting geography and history lesson. Some in her class even sent theirs to China!

Thanks Sandi for the explanation of the flat Brynne. I had no idea what that was when Red had her flat Stanley out front of her RV. Nice fun project for the grandkids. Guess my grandbabies are still too young (3) for this.

Flat Stanley is a book series for younger readers. They're great fun, and the kids enjoy seeing all the places he visits.

Linda, I don't think it's ever too early to expose kids to great books. Kids just aren't read to often -- or long -- enough anymore. Your little ones would pick up on your enthusiasm, and you could have lots of fun with a Flat Stanley. And then when they go to school they'll have their own stories to tell about their own Flat Stanley adventures.
