America's Hunters

The world's largest army... America 's hunters!
I had never thought about this...

A blogger added up the deer license sales in just a handful of states
and arrived at a striking
conclusion:

There were over 600,000 hunters this season in the state of Wisconsin .
Allow me to restate that number: Over the last
several months, Wisconsin 's hunters became the eighth largest army in
the world.

More men/women under arms than in Iran .

More than France and Germany combined.

These men/women deployed to the woods of a single American state, Wisconsin,
to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed.

That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of
Pennsylvania and Michigan's 700,000 hunters, all of whom have now returned home safely.
Toss in a quarter million hunters in West Virginia and it literally establishes that the hunters of those four states alone would comprise the largest army in the world. And then add in the total number of hunters in the other 46 states.
It's millions more.

The point?

America will forever be safe from foreign invasion with that kind of home-grown firepower.

Hunting...
it's not just a way to fill the freezer.
It's a matter of national security.

***************************************
That's why all enemies, foreign and domestic,
want to see us disarmed.

Food for thought, when next we consider gun control. I do, however, believe that assault rifles should be banned. They are only used to hunt people.

Have A Great Day!

I too agree assault weapons should be banned. I definitely believe in the right to own hunting guns. Chuck was a hunter and we had a gun safe full of rifles, shotguns and a pistol or two. I don't see the need for assault weapons, though.

I own guns and my son-in-law keeps me supplied with venison BUT private people DO NOT need assault rifles or the huge clips of ammunition for speed shooting. I also am against the gun shows BECAUSE of the loophole that guns can be sold at gun shows WITHOUT doing a background check. Now if you were a bad guy where would you buy your guns????? If this country were to be attacked it would not be by troops invading our shores; it would most likely be bombed from far away and being armed is not a defense against that kind of attack.

You can buy guns without the background check online!! You can buy from a private owner. If you have a collection of guns and want to sell them?? Then there is a "Craigslist" for guns. There are so many loop holes to get around the TX laws. Most of the sellers at gun shows are licensed dealers and you have to get the gun clearance. You have to fill out the official forms. They each have their own computers at the show to get the clearance. only takes a couple minutes. You are allowed to bring you firearm into the show to sell, but that is a very small number.
