Mitch - DO Cooking

Hey Mitch - I don't know about the guy giving you such a hard time on the other site. I've seen this advocated when using a DO on top of a stove to bake something. Again, it's the idea of putting charcoal on top of the DO. You know why less go under the oven and more on the top, right? Because heat rises through the oven from the few on bottom, but to cook the top, you need to generate more heat on top since most of it's going to go up.

And I think this looks a lot like what your new oven is going to accomplish as well

..

I have one of those covers for my Volcano grill. I was actually just today thinking about using it for the new oven to help keep the heat in on cooler/windy days. I hope it's tall enough. I haven't measured it yet.

Yeah, that guy just pissed me off with the attitude in his original post...there's ALWAYS one over there. All that testosterone needs to find an outlet...

I just think we're going to have a heck of a time cooking wonderful meals in Texas using all our silly gadgets!! (not so silly when the dish is a tasty success!!!)
