Another heart-filled Welcome back to the lower 48!!! Tell Herschel....Spinner says he can relate to the paws over the eyes when coming down from these western mountain passes.....US 16 from Buffalo to Worland, WY was alot like that....Switch-backs and steep grades... :o  We're doing our Yellowstone tour this Friday with our personal tour guide....my sister and brother-in-law... ;) If you plan to visit Cody, I can give you and Nan a CG recommendation there....OR.....here in Thermopolis.... ;) :D There's one just down the road that has full-hookups with their own "hot springs" swimming pool.... PM me if you want to stop by.... :D

Beautiful, and I'm with Hershel I wanted to hide my eyes on some of those twisty, steep roads. I'll always remember coming out of a turn and seeing the site of the huge resort there on the water in Coeur d'Alene, it was amazing. I actually stayed there one night. I was so surprised, I stopped to just look around and just inquired about a room not expecting they would have a vacancy as it was a holiday weekend. Turns out they did and I also got a special rate.
I hope you get to meet up with Sheila and any other sisters in the area.

We're parked in my sister's back yard in Thermopolis.....Our tour plans for Yellowstone are somewhat the following...Friday, entering the park via the Eastern Entrance near Cody....working our way to Yellowstone Lake, a waterfall that my sister wants us to see, and points of interest here and there...(not really going to Old Faithful, maybe), then working our way toward, I think, DuBois or Jackson Hole, seeing the Tetons, and really would like to see the Oregon Trail Stuff...MY BIL is planning this, as he is a WY native and does alot of hunting in the park....( I for-see lots of wild life sightings along the way, too.) We plan to do an over night at a lodge he knows...(their DIL is "dog sitting" Spinner and his doggie cousins here.) as we aren't taking the 5er.....So, let me know your plan of attack, and hopefully, we'll be able to meet up somewhere...even if it is an hour or 2..Would love to see you gals......but remember, I do have info on a CG in Cody, the Pondarosa CG.....and here in Thermopolis...the "Fountain of Youth" CG, with their own "hot Springs pool.... if you need a parking place for a few days..... ;)

You outdid yourself with those latest mountain and lake/water picsl, Tina! I don't think I saw that part of Idaho, as I was coming from Oregon. I do remember camping on lava, or something like crumbly, harsh lava, at Craters of the Moon National Park, however, when it was still closed for the season. That place was impressive without any tourists back then.

Thanks for this latest chapter!

The folks in northern Idaho say that the southern part of the state doesn't look the same. Another reason to return to the west in the future...to check it out. :D

Tina your pictures are amazing. I never realized how beautiful the mountains in Idaho are. Another place to add to the bucket list can't wait to get started on it.

it really depends upon what part of the state you are in as to what you see...each is totally unique you have farms ranches mountains mines tourist stops and it goes on down in the area that is close to UT is a lake name of Bear Lake ( if you look for it find Montpiller and go south and sorta west) it is so blue to look at yes I realize that it depends upon the blue in the sky but it's so blue ...Idaho has a lot to offer
Lorna mentioned to Tina about a group in Jackson called the Bar J Wanglers food entertainment really good perhaps if that sounded good we could plan a night there and all gtg hopefully there is away of meeting
