Escapees RV Boot Camp

Postby cpatinjones » Tue Nov 02, 2010 9:39 pm

Hello,
I leave Thursday morning heading towards Livingston, TX. I will be attending the Escapees RV Boot Camp. I have been waiting almost a year to attend this Boot Camp. Have any of you attended the Escapees RV Boot Camp?
Here is the agenda for the Boot Camp:

Rainbow’s End RVers' Boot Camp Schedule
November 5-7, 2010
Welcome to the program! We are glad you are here! This is the seminar and event schedule for RVers' Boot Camp. The main RVers' Boot Camp educational program consists of eight seminars; however, first-time RVers or trainees who wish to review very basic RV concepts (like what a sewer hose is and how you hook it up) may optionally attend RV Basic Systems as an additional elective. This is a very basic course, so if you already know your black water from your grey water, you can probably skip it. Basic RV Systems will be held before the RVers' Boot Camp welcome ceremony.
All seminars and ceremonies will be held in the clubhouse. Please check your map!

I would love to go to that, Carolyn! I had a friend who went to something similar at a big RVing Women rally. She was new to RVing and learned so much! She knew more about maintenance than I know and I'm now a full timer  It will be nice to have another "expert" on the forum to answer tech questions :D
Linda, Rags, and Brutus full-timing it in our 2017 Winnebago Micro Mini, Thumbelina.

I attended their "first" boot camp when they held it in 2005 but at that time they had it running as part of their larger national rally which I attended my first year with my rig ( and the first fall after retirement...as an educator I had to fill that Sept space :? ) With the loss of Life on Wheels...this is a good alternative to gain some confidence and information in a short period of time. The full learning curve of course...never ends.....

Carolyn, I went last year and really loved it. Well worth the money, I thought. I learned so much. I had my Class C about 10 days when I went to the session. I actually want to go again as I know that I will learn more. I also want to take the full day driving class. I will do it one day soon.

You will have a good time and meet lots of people. Take notes to review and get one copy of all the hand outs. Food is okay, too.

Have fun and we will compare notes one day soon.

Carolyn, What was the best part of it for you? I thought the driving with the propane on was quite interesting. And I loved the part where each presenter went to a table and sat down and answered any question that you had ---- that was so cool. I do want to go again, now that I have been doing this a little bit.
